The Tees Valley Treatment Centre in
Middlesbrough, opened in 2007, and specialises in
the delivery of NHS and private services for :
- General Surgery: hernia repair, varicose vein
surgery, minor skin
- GI Endoscopy: gastroscopy, colonoscopy,
flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Oral Surgery: teeth extractions, mouth
lesions
- Orthopaedics: hand & wrist,
knee, foot & ankle, podiatric surgery
- Urology: prostate, incontinence,
haematuria(not 2WW),
erectile dysfunction, vasectomy
This modern facility is purpose-designed for
the assessment, diagnosis and
treatment for conditions on a day case
basis.
Location
Located within One Life in central
Middlesbrough the Treatment Centre is accessible from
both the A19 and A66 with limited short
stay parking available on site .
Facilities
There is an Outpatient Unit (ground
floor) and a Surgical Day Unit (third floor) with
2 theatres and dedicated recovery areas.
Referral
Referral to the Treatment Centre is via GP and
all services are available directly or via Choose and
Book.
Following an outpatient appointment with a
consultant if surgery is required the patient can then book a time
and date to suit their needs. 'One stop' services
are available for many services whereby the patient has their
consultation and procedure within the one visit to the Treatment
Centre.
The Treatment Centre is open Monday to Saturday
(morning) and to fit in with patient lifestyles and work
commitments late evening and Saturday
morning outpatient appointments are available for
most services.

MRSA screening policy compliance
Tees Valley Treatment Centre updated and approved MRSA policy in
March 2009 to include the national requirement to screen elective
admissions. This policy was implemented with immediate effect.
Compliance with the standards are fully met and 100% of elective
patients will be screened by end of March 2009.
